High Commissioner of India, H.E. Mr. Sugandh Rajaram’s Official Visit to Ashanti Region from 17-24 April 2021

During his visit to Ashanti Region High Commissioner visited the facilities of Asante Kotoko, one of the most popular soccer clubs of Ghana, in Kumasi.





Calling on Hon. Simon Osei-Mensah, Regional Minister of Ashanti Region, in Kumasi High Commissioner discussed several issues of cooperation between India & Ghana in the Region.







Interacting with alumni of Indian scholarships from Ashanti Region, High Commissioner urged them to be catalyst in promoting India in the Region.



High Commissioner while visiting Obuasi was hosted by Rotary Club of Obuasi introducing him to its developmental work in the region in areas of water & sanitation.





High Commissioner interacted with Ghana National Chamber of Commerce in Kumasi on enhancing India Ghana business ties in Ashanti Region.









High Commissioner visited Obuasi, well known gold mining town in Ashanti Region, and discussed with authorities in the area including local MP and Municipal &Traditional Chiefs cooperation with India





During his visit to Ashanti Region High Commissioner visited Cocoa processing facility of Olam Cocoa in Kumasi to know more about the business climate in the Region.









High Commissioner visited Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital KATH in Kumasi and discussed with its authorities assistance from India especially in the area of capacity building







During his visit to Ashanti Region High Commissioner discussed with Hon. Osei Assibey Antwi, Mayor of Kumasi, the Regional Capital, issues of strengthening cooperation with India.



During his visit to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology in Kumasi High Commissioner discussed progress of Tele-Education & Tele-Medicine (e-VBAB) Project being implemented with Indian Assistance.

High Commissioner along with Vice Chancellor and the Librarian of Kwame Nkrumah University of Sceience & Technology in Kumasi established 'India Corner' in the University Library with gift of books on India.

High Commissioner interacted with listeners of Morning Show of Garden City Radio in Kumasi on multifaceted India - Ghana relations in Ashanti Region.



Visiting National Cultural Centre in Kumasi High Commissioner discussed with its authorities cultural cooperation including exchange of artists with India.







Visiting Suame Magazine, an auto workshops hub in Ashanti Region, High Commissioner discussed with local authorities of Ghana National Association of Garages possible cooperation with India.



High Commissioner hosted India-Ashanti Region Round Table in Kumasi with participation by Ministers, Mayors and authorities from various fields from the Region including business, education, health & culture.



High Commissioner visited Suame Municipal Assembly in Ashanti Region & interacted with Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, MP from the constituency, Parliamentary Affairs Minister & Majority Leader, on issues of cooperation with India.





High Commissioner called on Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II at Manhyia Palace in Kumasi and discussed strengthening cooperation between India & Ghana in general and India & Ashanti in particular.







High Commissioner interacted with Indian community members in Kumasi on issues of their interest.



During his visit to Kumasi High Commissioner briefed media persons from Ashanti Region on developments in India and Indo-Ghana relations



During his visit to Ashanti Region High Commissioner visited local businesses, Benz City (in Automotive training) & Sethi Bros (Indian Steel products manufacturer), along with Business Chamber authorities
