INDIA – GHANA JOINT TRADE COMMITTEE MEETING 

The 4th session of the India-Ghana Joint Trade Committee meeting was held in Accra on May 2-3, 2024.  The meeting was co-chaired by Mr. Amardeep Singh Bhatia, Additional Secretary, Dept. of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India and Hon. Michael Okyere-Baafi, Deputy Minister for Trade & Industry, Government of Ghana. The visiting delegation was accompanied by Confederation of Indian Industry led business delegation.

The discussions, aimed at strengthening bilateral trade and economic ties between the two countries, took place in a friendly and cordial atmosphere reflecting the traditional bonds between the two countries.  Both sides affirmed their readiness to implement the decisions flowing from the 4th session of the India-Ghana JTC, with a view to further deepening bilateral trade and investment.

The Indian Delegation also called on Hon. Mr. Kwaku Ampratwum Sarpong, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration of the Government of Ghana and held discussions with H.E. Mr. Wamkele Mene, Secretary General of the African Continental Free Trade Area.

A Business Round Table and a Business Networking Reception were also held with participation of leaders of business and industry, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Association of Ghana Industries, World Trade Center, Ghana and stakeholders from diverse sectors of the Ghanaian economy.
