India-Ghana Partnership Day Celebrations | 15 March, 2024

High Commission of India, Accra celebrated the Annual India-Ghana Partnership Day at India House on 15 March, 2024. A large number of ITEC and ICCR alumni participated in the celebrations.  The event witnessed addresses by High Commissioner Mr. Manish Gupta and Amb. Sena Siaw Boateng, Chief Director, National Security.  ITEC and ICCR alumni shared their enriching experiences and learnings in India and appreciated India’s leadership in R&D, infra, education and tech sectors while also highlighted opportunities for collaboration in various domains.

 2.  In his inaugural address at the celebration, High Commissioner gave an overview of the ITEC programme and ICCR Scholarship Schemes. High Commissioner mentioned that under the ITEC Programme, nationals of friendly countries are imparted fully funded capacity building training in various fields. Under ICCR scholarships, scholars are provided scholarships to pursue Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral studies in premier Institutes in India. ITEC Training empowers the scholars with not just professional skills, but also helps in preparing them for an increasingly globalized world.  Vibrant cultural performances blending together Indian and Ghanaian styles were also organised during the event.

 3.  So far, about 4000 Ghanaian professionals have undergone ITEC training on a wide and diverse range of skills and disciplines, including in ICT, Expenditure Management, Entrepreneurship, WTO, Banking & Finance, Renewable Energy, Climate Change, Sustainable Development, Public Heath etc. In addition, more than 200 Ghanaians have availed of ICCR scholarships for Under Graduate, Post Graduate and Doctoral studies in the last 10 years.

 4.  The ITEC Alumni Day is celebrated every year in the High Commission of India, Accra. It provides a platform for Ghanaian ITEC alumni to come together and share their experiences gained while studying in India.
