A panel discussion on the theme of the International Women's Day 2024, 'Invest In Women: Accelerate Progress' was hosted by the High Commission of India on 13 March 2024 at the Chancery premises. Women from all walks of life came together to share their experiences and opinions on ways to uplift and empower women.
Among esteemed guests were Honourable Members of Parliament Ms. Dakoa Newman, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings and Mrs. Abla Dzifa Gomashie, Honourable Elizabeth Sackey, the Mayor of Accra & Nana Ohui Ametor, the Queen of Ada. They expressed their delight in being a part of the celebrations and shared the challenges they have faced while highlighting how they changed the narrative.
Panelists included Ms. Angela Lusigi, United Nations Development Programme Resident Representative in Ghana, Mrs. Dorcas Coker Appiah, Executive Director, Gender Studies and Human Rights Documentation Centre, Taniya Mondal, Managing Director, MediaReach OMD Ghana and Vinisha Daryanani, President, Indian Women’s Association. The discussion was engaging and true to the spirit of Women's Day.
